INTRODUCTION

Antsy ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Antsy platform (the "Platform"), an online marketplace connecting Clients seeking home services with independent Helpers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Platform. By creating an account or using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions by reference.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: full name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash).
- Profile information: city, address, postal code, phone number, date of birth, bio, and skills.
- Helper verification: government-issued identification (front and back), Social Insurance Number (SIN), and Trust Verification answers.
- Job and booking details: job descriptions, addresses, photos, scheduled dates, hours, and notes.
- Messages: the content of chats between Clients and Helpers.
- Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card numbers — Stripe handles payment data securely.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, and approximate location inferred from your city.
- Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you logged in and remember preferences.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

- To create and manage your account.
- To match Clients with Helpers and facilitate bookings.
- To process payments and payouts through Stripe.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, job alerts, and support messages (per your notification preferences).
- To verify Helper identity and conduct background screening at our discretion.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Platform.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. SHARING OF INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Other users: limited details (such as first name, photo, city, and reviews) are visible to other users as needed to facilitate bookings. Your full address is only shared with a Helper once a booking is made.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments) and our hosting and email providers, who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
- Authorities: where required by law, court order, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Antsy, our users, or the public.

4. DATA RETENTION

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from your profile, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. SECURITY

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including encrypted transmission and restricted access controls. Sensitive documents (such as IDs and SIN) are visible only to you and authorized administrators after re-authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. COOKIES, TRACKING AND ANALYTICS

We use cookies to maintain your session and remember language and notification preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function properly.

We also collect limited analytics events (such as which screens and features you use) through our platform provider to understand app usage and improve the Platform. This analytics data is not used for third-party advertising, is not linked to third-party data for advertising measurement, and is not shared with data brokers.

7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for certain processing activities, such as email notifications (adjustable in your profile).

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with the revised date. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
